Headhunters were originally a duo consisting of Willem Rebergen and now former member, Bobby van Putten. At the age of 9, Rebergen sang during a children's choir that recorded many CDs. One year later, he started voice acting, that he still continues these days. He gained his 1st major expertise as a DJ at the Defqon.1 festival, a large Hardstyle event within the Netherlands, where he was discovered by The Prophet. Since then, Headhunterz has attended many major Hardstyle events, as well as Qlimax, Q-Base, In Qontrol, Decibel and plenty of additional sites.
Beginning his career with duo partner Bobby van Putten under the alias, Nasty D-Tuners, Rebergen and van Putten renamed their act to Headhunterz when they signed to the Dutch Hardstyle label Scantraxx in 2005. Van Putten left shortly after their first release on Scantraxx and Willem Rebergen took over the Headhunterz alias as a solo act.
He performed live at Qlimax in 2006, 2007 (which he made the Anthem for), 2008, 2009 and 2011. He additionally made the anthem for Defqon.1's competition in 2009, "Scrap Attack", and once more for Defqon.1 competition 2010 (Australia), "Save Your Scrap for Victory". He also made the anthem for Defqon.1 competition 2012 as a collaboration with Wildstylez and Noisecontrollers.
In November 2013, Headhunterz released a collaboration single with fellow label artist, Krewella, known as "United Kids of the World". The track was launched by Ultra Music in partnership with DoSomething.org, a non-profit organization with the goal of motivating young people to take action around social changes, with a campaign focusing on the problems of cyber bullying.
